Osaka University of Economics established the Faculty of
International Co-creativity and Innovation in April 2024.
Today, there is a growing need for individuals who can solve social and economic issues by combining global and local perspectives and employing multifaceted viewpoints and ways of thinking. In this faculty, students will acquire knowledge of both “society & culture” and “economy & management” from global perspectives. They will gain the practical skills necessary to create a better future by cooperating and collaborating with diverse populations, both domestically and internationally. In addition, students will develop the ability to explore essential issues by combining global and local perspectives (Insight), understand the thoughts of diverse populations and work towards building trust (Empathy), connect knowledge to make plans based on free ideas (Conceptual skills), and act proactively to solve issues (Practical ability).

A new social issue resolution system aiming to achieve both economic returns and social impact creation.
SIB (Social Impact Bond) is acquired when a management organization funded by private businesses implements a project to solve social issues and receives performance-based compensation from local governments. In cooperation with local governments, private-sector know-how is used to establish businesses, while providing innovative solutions to social issues, particularly in highly public areas such as support for local communities, smoking cessation, job search for young people, and measures to combat poverty.
